On two lines purely the presence of the probe changes the reset symptoms, i.e the screen will change colour and the status light will light. Question - how can I tell really if this is expected? I then put a probe on the Address and Data lines and I get some odd readings, where for the most part I can see the reset going on however one or two Data lines have nothing. I then check the clock signal (OK in my case)
I understand to check the /Reset line and yes I can see it high and switching low for a fraction of a second, this is what I interpret to be a reset. My Question is :- is there an actual process, This could I assume be because there are various types of circuits?. I have read Wombles guide on 'How to repair Arcade Boards', but in all my readings I have not really found a PROCESS in how to logically trace a watchdog reset fault. I have read dozens of repair logs and it would seem that Watchdog resets are mainly due to CPU, ram and Clock, but there could be any other number of reasons.(This could be a simplified summary)
